Kate Martin has reopened the famous Logger Bar after many months of closure due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Kate had a local craftsman install wood fencing in front on the sidewalk for outdoor, smoke-free seating. Kate has added the additional touches of astroturf and a planter sporting flowers and a topiary elk/deer (you decide!). The Logger Bar is now currently open Thursday-Saturday 4pm-11pm. Stop by and enjoy a summer cocktail!

The Blue Lake Chamber of Commerce has presented four new historic building plaques to the Logger Bar, Chumayo Spa, Dell’Arte and the Mad River Grange. Chamber board members, Alicia Rousseau; Karen Miller and Mariel Morison, took on the project to research the history of these great old buildings. Sandra Poston of Engravability created the plaques with funding from the Blue Lake Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber hopes to provide future plaques for other historic buildings as funds become available.

How are businesses doing in Blue Lake during the Covid-19 pandemic? Jo Patterson, owner of the Blue Lake Laundromat, sent us the following: “The laundromat has been open 7 days a week, 360 days a year since 1984, so Covid-19 did not cause us to close. We are considered an essential business. We clean each night with bleach and require masks.” You can find the Blue Lake Laundromat at 622 Blue Lake Blvd.
